AN ALTERNATIVE SPACE TO LEARN AND GROW
A safe place to be you.
The Fort is a learning centre supporting neurodivergent children and their caregivers in Courtenay and across the Comox Valley. Here, every child is understood, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Our Mission
At The Fort, we create relationship-centred programs that support neurodivergent children through regulation, curiosity, connection, and meaningful engagement in ways that work for each child.
Safe & Respected
A welcoming space where children feel accepted, understood, and valued as they are.
Relationship Centred
We build trust first, because strong relationships help children feel safe enough to learn, play, and grow.
Neurodiversity Affirming
We honour each child’s unique way of learning, moving, communicating, and experiencing the world.
Individualized Support
Programs are shaped around each child’s needs, interests, strengths, and goals.
Regulation & Engagement
We help children find calm, curiosity, and meaningful participation in ways that work for them.
Our approach begins with trust, respect, and understanding each child as an individual.
For children ages 5 to 12
Who we work with
The Fort works with families throughout Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, and the Comox Valley whose children ages 5 to 12 are neurodivergent or who learn, process, communicate, move, or experience the world in their own way.
We support children with a wide range of strengths, needs, and differences. Your child does not need to fit neatly into a label to be welcomed here.
